    Saltcreek-Tarlton Volunteer Fire Department (STVFD) is a volunteer fire fighting department that serves the village of Tarlton and Saltcreek Township (36 sq. miles).  The department was established May 10, 1955 with 21 members and 2 trucks.  Currently we have 35 active members and 8 trucks.  The main station is located on main street in downtown Tarlton.  We also have a secondary station located across the township in the village of Whistler.  Also included is a volunteer EMS service with two ambulances, one from each station and 14 members.
